It is a Morris Eight Series E (1939-47). -- Last edit: 2006-02-13 22:26:10 |

Series E has its original headlights; the rather unsightly Lucas conversions were available in 1960, affording improved lighting to impress the tester. The c.1935 Austin Lichfield that Finney and Rossington are doing their best to conceal may be the same car as in the Minor convertible shot. -- Last edit: 2017-02-21 00:39:05 |

Not a Lichfield, which has a four light body. http://www.simoncars.co.uk/austin/austinten4.html Difficult to tell from this angle, third rear window looks a bit small for an Ascot, but could be camera angle, rear pillar looks too upright for a Cambridge. Most likely a Sherbourne, if it's a Ten-Four, Ascot if it's a Twelve, and according to the shape of the rain gutter at the back it looks to be a Twelve-Four Ascot to me. There is no "Six" script on the grille. http://www.simoncars.co.uk/austin/austin12.html http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C712377 -- Last edit: 2016-04-11 10:44:11 |
