This buggy is a Gurgel, probably a Xavante X-12, VW based, but with independent handbrake selector, what made the buggy almost a allterrain car. Please see http://www2.uol.com.br/bestcars/classicos/gurgel-2.htm Gurgel made a complete brazilian car, but went bankrupt in the nineties, when imports had their import taxes reduced. His history is somewhat interesting. |

As I wrote somewhere else, there is annother Gurgel to see in a Bud Spencer-movie. In "Piedone e Africa", filmed in the former Southwest-Africa, today Namibia. |

I tryed to look to any result of the movie you said, but didn't succeed. Piedone l'africano (1978) .... Rizzo ... aka Flatfoot in Africa (International: English title) ... aka Inspecteur Bulldozer ... aka Knock-Out Cop (International: English title) |

Sorry, my fault, the correct title is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076544/ I just wrote it, as I had it in my mind - I don't know Italian. ![]() Oh, I found a deleted scene at youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHXINubIWxw The Ford Taunus [TC2] (Swakopmund license-plate) is missing in the original movie (I own a VHS-tape). The scene with the bike and the sidecar was not cutted out. And I'm just thinking, where would be a good place in our house for the frame with the original movie-poster. ![]() I'm still on the seach for a vinyl record with the theme of this movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c07kbci6vzA&feature=related But I guess, it wasn't released on vinyl. -- Last edit: 2009-03-07 15:12:42 |
