The Dodge is a medium-duty D-Series made between 1967 and 1968. -- Last edit: 2009-03-05 17:11:21 |

This is a Dodge D-400, made in Brazil at old Simca do Brasil factory, then Chrysler do Brasil. It was driven by Dodge 318 V-8 engine, the same installed in Dodge Dart here. Dodge didn\'t change the styling, so this truck maybe from 68 to mid-seventies. The paint scheme and absence of front matricule indicates it is an Air Force truck, reforced by neighborhood of the Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro. |

Definitely not a D400. Looking at the bigger wheels, i say this is a D-700, and the "DODGE" lettering in the middle of the grill, is a 1975-78 model. |

D400 was an BR version of US D-300, being a light duty truck. In other hand, the D-700 was a medium duty truck, an brazilian version of US D-500. Another correction from Bob comment is the fact that the Dodge trucks was made from 69 to 81 by Chrysler (Renamed ethanol heavier models were made by Volkswagen from 82 to 84). Initially, the style of trucks was a white fascia and lettering in the hood, in 1975 the fascia was painted in black on inner part of the fascia and white in headlight arcs and external part of fascia, with lettering on the middle. 79 to 81 (and VW production) was back into earlier style. 1969 folder of D-700: Link to "encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com" 1975 folder of (extremely rare) D-750 model with new fascia: Link to "encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com" 1979 Brazilian Chrysler range: Link to "encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com" |
