NO WAY!!!! This is certainly NOT an E12. It's a Euro E28. Looks like a `81-`84 (curved headrests, nicer air-dam). EXCELLENT PHOTOS! This can't be a 528i - check out the wheel covers, and the single exhaust. Only the smaller engined or eta engine E28's used the single exhaust, and the diesels had a single down-facing pipe. The 528i would have had a dual-tip exhaust, and alloy wheels. It is really hard to make out the badge/model in this photo. Based on all my knowlege, I'd say this is a `81-`84 Euro E28 525e. Could be a 518i or 520i too. Looks more like a 525e badge to me. |

The vehicle shown is an E28 (525i or 528i). The E28 was introduced in 1981 as successor of the E12. I remember one scene in this movie shot within the passenger compartment of Grenier's BMW and actually showing the E12 cockpit and dashboard. Obviously the exterior E28 scenes were pasted into the film when the E28 was launched in order to place the new product. There is another (older) thriller featuring Lino Ventura driving a BMW of the 02 series but I don't remember the name of the movie. -- Last edit: 2008-03-17 16:50:28 |

The 525E was launghed in 1985. This should be a 525I. |
