This version was inofficially called 'Usine' (factory) and sold by Citroën dealers. It is true that these were built by Chapron, but normally the Chapron name is used only for special versions of the DS cabriolet that were not sold by the Citroën dealers. By the hubcaps it has to be a 1966/67 model. |

A real dream today.. and those factory cabrios are by far more desirable for me than a Chapron overdecorated version! ![]() |

Citroën DS cabriolet 1960 https://www.guide-automobiles-anciennes.com/VOITURE/citroen-ds-cabriolet-701.htm "Chapron began producing DS cabriolets in 1958 in small series (a few dozen vehicles per year) based on the sedan and without Citroën's approval. From 1960 onwards, the Citroën factory will manufacture its own models in parallel on the reinforced platform of the ID estate. These are the most common" see also : https://www.guide-automobiles-anciennes.com/VOITURE/citroen-ds-18.htm |
