In the 70ies the Transit's MKI and MKII were notorious known as THAT car for Turkish people, more than the Granada's, the Ford 20 M [P7] and the Mercedes 200. In vacation-times you really could see them, loaded with a washing machine and a frigde on the roof and a 10-headed family inside. Several of these people died on these homecoming-trips, mainly on the dangerous "Autoput" in Yugoslavia.
