"Barndoor" The term is applied to all buses, from the first prototypes of 1949, to the last barndoor built in March of 1955, chassis #20-117901. Reference: http://www.vintagebus.com/techinfo/definitions.html Interesting to note that after this vehicle arrives at the rocket crash scene, one of the technicians opens the "barndoor" to reveal not the engine, but a complex radio set which is used to attempt communication with the crew. Why and how this was done is a mystery to me! BTW - this is a really good movie! |
