To get rid of all those 'Unknown' movie cars we could say: Make: Made for Movie Model: 'name given in the film' (like 'NemoMobile', 'Batmobile', etc.) If the base vehicle is identifyable we should use that make and model name and add 'Modified for Movie' in the 'Extra Info' field. I think using 'Made for Movie' as the make name makes it absolutely clear that it is not a company name. What do you say? |

For that one: /vehicle_16573-Made-for-Movie-Batmobile.html We could keep GM as make since they were making ads with that (as said in the comments of that page), even if it was made for a movie. Same for that one that had a make: /vehicle_10697-Tumbler-Batmobile.html |

I had the make as Made for Movie and model as GM Batmobile. This kept GM in the name but allowed a search that contains "movie" to find the car. We should probably find a way to keep these one off customs consistent for the search function. At any rate, I put www.imcdb.org/vehicle_16573-Made-for-Movie-Batmobile.html back the way it was. The NemoMobile was never driven over 50 MPH due to the fiberglass body vibrating in the wind. It had an automatic transmission, but screen shots of the floorboards show an extra pedal - a second brake pedal! This was to assist in sharp turns due to it's length (22') and the fact that it had 4 front wheels! Personally, I like it better with the removable hardtop on it, but either way, it's pretty cool. I would love to have one, or at least a more street capable version of one; my inquiries so far have estimated an exact replica at $300,000 to $400,000.... a little out of my LEAGUE. -- Last edit: 2008-09-09 15:51:15 |

The car is currently owned by Propstore of London www.propstore.com/league.htm, and was on display at the 2006 London Motorshow. They named it differently on their site, but i'm sure they hardly know how to name it. A full description and more pictures can be found here www.propstore.com/lxgcar.htm. One of the guys at Propstore told me that the elephant sculptures at the front always get damaged when the car is driven of the trailer. This is Nautilus. More info: The car "The Nautilus Car" created specifically for the film, is fully functional. It was built from scratch on the chassis of a Land Rover(!) with a Rover V8 engine. Its length is impressive 6.7 metres in width is 2.74 meters. Car in brilliant white decorated with metal figures in the Victorian style created by the art Director of the film Carol Spier (Carol Spier). The interior is upholstered in beige leather and are decorated in the same style as the interior of the car. The diameter of each of the six wheels is 24 inches. While landing the car is so low that it required the installation of a special hydraulic system that allows to safely unload it from the truck. The car can accelerate to 150-160 km/h. It is known that during the filming of "The Nautilus Car" managed to appear on the popular auto show in German Essen and the capital of steampunkers London. After the release of the film was in the exhibition hall of company "Prop Store", which specializiruetsya on the sale of the famous and not so famous movies.
