Cybertronian ◊ 2020-01-25 15:59	Bumblebee's design is generic as far as Beetles go, but when Goldbug, a more car-accurate version of Bumblebee was made, his features most resembled a 1974 Super Beetle, or 1303S. (In particular, the vent pattern on his "hood".) When Pretender Bumblebee was made, a lot of Goldbug's features as well as his size were retained. That's why I've always considered Bumblebee a 1974 VW 1303S/Super Beetle. (Apparently, the triangular door windows were optional.
