I've seen this film and while I'm not sure who made that bus, I can say it's NOT from an American company as far as I know. |

At a rough guess I'd say it's a European touring coach from the 1950s or 1960s dressed up to look like a New York style transit bus (blue stripe, advertisements on the side). IIRC an American city street set was built on the backlot at Pinewood Studios for the Superman films, so I imagine that the producers thought that buying a real American bus and shipping it over from the US just to smash it up was too expensive and they decided to find something closer to home that would do instead. |
