There is no police-package Malibu, there hasn't been one since 1982. As Neptune and I said in earlier comments, it's just a Malibu with heavy-duty Chevrolet wheels (which are mostly used on 9C1's.) |

That's odd. You would think Chevy would put in the work to create an official police package for huge customers such as the NYPD. |

That's why they have the Impala. Besides, Chevrolet is about to release an all new police vehicle, bringing back the Caprice name: http://www.chevroletcapriceppv.com/#home So clearly Chevrolet has been busy as of late, probably preparing to take over the police car market once the Crown Victoria stops production. |

Likely all of the car’s safety systems were disabled by the special effects crew. They sometimes "get in the way" during filming complex scenes. I personally think it would heighten the drama/action and realism if they could leave all that in ... -- Last edit: 2010-02-11 22:30:04 |
