Seems to be like some custom-built movie prop based on M5 Stuart light tank. |

The back ground looks quite similar to Myers Lake area of The Andy Griffith Show fame. In reality known as Franklin Canyon Reservoir, upper. It appears to be the same one used in a Beverly Hillbillies episode, War Games. ![]() Previous pic 800X634 reduced. The above screen cap of the Green Acres show could possibly be the Franklin Canyon Reservoir area. This area was also used for a TV show called COMBAT!, another Desilu production. |

The Green Acres Tank on the TV was taken from The Beverly Hillbillies episode, "Greetings from the President." The barrel is raised as in the above screen cap, seconds before Jethro fires it across, or into a lake. The trees are branch for branch identical. This, by the way, is the last episode which Bea Benadarett appears on The Beverly Hillbillies. She had been staring in her own Sam Drucker Triad show 'Petticoat Junction' for several years before returning for this episode which aired in October of 1967, almost one year to the day before she died of either lung cancer or emphysema. I do not know the make or model, but It does appear to be late WWI or early WWII French. -- Last edit: 2009-11-02 22:06:13 |

I think this is a Marmon-Herrington CTL-3 Combat Car. http://www.tankland.com/armoredvehiclesandpersonnelcarriers.html The picture listed under M-H CTL-3 Combat Car looks like a match. -- Last edit: 2010-01-21 23:43:55 |

"....TV show called COMBAT!, another Desilu production." Just to keep the record straight, both "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Green Acres" were Filmways productions, not Desilu. And according to the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) Combat! was produced by Selmur Productions. |

Regardless, no one production company had exclusive rights to Franklin Canyon Reservoir and a lot of shows, including the ones mentioned above, filmed there. "Leave It to Beaver" also used it as a lake quite often. |
