Just so we're clear, this is for the military truck in the center. Is that the one you mean? |

This scene was set just before the Japanese Bombing of Darwin on the morning of the 19th February 1942. After the Bombing of the US Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbour on the 7th December 1941, the Japanese Armed Forces begun an all-out offense campaign in East Asia and Southeast Asia, attacking The US and Commonwealth positions in Borneo, British Hong Kong, British Malaya, Dutch East Indies, Gilbert Islands, Guam, Thailand, The Philippines, and The Wake Islands. By 1942, the Japanese had launched more further offensives against the US and Commonwealth positions in Burma, Christmas Island, India, New Guinea, The Aleutian Islands, The Andaman Islands, The Solomon Islands, Timor, and Yunnan. Four days before the Bombing of the Darwin, on the 15th February 1942, the Japanese seized the Island of Singapore, resulting in the capture of 80,000 Commonwealth troops, consisting of Australian, British, Indian, Malayan, and local troops. -- Last edit: 2021-12-06 05:49:23 |
