In the Aston Martin chase, Bond is pursued by Goldfinger's Chinese henchmen in 3 Mercedes, two black and one grey (which Oddjob rides in).

At the first the two black ones chase one, Bond uses his smokescreen and oil stick to get rid of them, one crashes into a tree (but soon re-enters the chase) and the other drives off a cliff and explodes.

Yellow, not orange. So I guess it is a French car despite the Swiss plate (maybe fake).

I'm pretty sure that's a fake plate. :)

I'm certain it is. The font is wrong and too large for a Swiss plate, and IIRC they don't have the national and canton's shields on the front plate.

Until 1993 French law required yellow headlights

At least some of these cars are W120 180s or W121 190s not W180 220Ss - note the vents either side of the grille. I cannot sure that all of them are W120/121s due to the poor light and the overall similarity in design with a W180, however, I am certain that any car with those vents is a W120/121.

Please change name to:

1956 Mercedes-Benz 190 [W121.010]

Both black cars NE 9641 and NE 5961 have air intakes between the 1956-58 narrow grille and the headlights, bumper guards, and indicators on the fenders. When re-watching the chase scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGwTx8gXXnc), the chrome strip under the window line became visible, which finally identifies it as a 190. I'll create a seperate page for the grey 220 SE.

I'm pretty sure that the car driven off the cliff was not a Mercedes, as the position of the lights in relation to the grille doesn't match. The burning car seen a few seconds later however appears to be a Mercedes.

Although this scene is set in Switzerland, it was actually filmed in the UK. Most likely the LHD cars were imported from France due to the yellow headlights. So 'Made for F' would maybe be justified.
