floppy-eared mutt, aka Tibetan Terrier. Usually called 'Benji'. -- Last edit: 2006-03-03 00:09:41 |

I was looking at this one http://www.ply33.com/Models/U/images/tf20011007u.jpg and was judging mostly by the very flat roof line. Other coupes of that age tended to have a rounder roof line. Other than that they all seem to look alike. |

The only other view of the car, in the case it could help even if it is quite small: |

there s avery similar pic I found of a '27 Dodge also, but once again the rims threw off http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/04/_image.pl?/show/04/ggpo/ggpo034.jpg |

Can't tell by this one. Its been hot-rodded and has custom wheels - among other things. |

I know.. theres not alot of good examples of theses cars left in stock configuration |
◊ 2006-03-03 23:45 |
Thanks it gives us a little more car to work with. Will keep working. |

Ain't it the truth, most seem to have been chopped/channeled with V8 and fat tires. |

The one other rather unique feature is the very slanted way the spare is mounted. Will concentrate on flat roof, wire wheels, and that spare. Althought he probably got hit in the rear and simply bent it. |

Well I found a slanted spare. It is not the correct car but I love it anyway and folks need to look at it. Its going in my favorites list on the forum. http://www.geocities.com/mcascella/EBugatti/eb1929.jpg |

I have looked at every 1927-1930 coupe I can find and this is as close as I can get. 1928 Durant http://www.txtransportationmuseum.org/DURANT.htm The body shape and top shape seem OK. The spare mounting is OK. Wheels are questionable but the car in the pic here is moving so its difficult to see. ?? -- Last edit: 2006-03-04 17:38:54 |

On which pic is it moving? On the pic from the movie, the car is parked in the background for the whole scene. |
◊ 2006-03-04 19:33 |
OOPS I can't see any spokes in the wheels of the movie pic and assumed they were blurred out by moving. OH Well, scrap that idea - wheels are wrong. |

Wheels can have been changed |
◊ 2006-03-04 22:01 |
Maybe, but I doubt it. It wasn't easy to change wheels on those old cars. Most that have different wheels have been hot-rodded with new suspension and modern wheels. I just can't find a car that looks right and also has the right wheels. I think I will just let it stew for a few days. |

The rear slope line does not look Durant but ressembles more Chevrolet or Maxwell with the incurvation flattening in the middle. The doors are opening in the " safe" direction .But Maxwell had only four window coupes. Could be a Chevrolet Superior Series K two door coupe of ca 1926 .These had also disk wheels. |
