1955-57, but from this angle I can't tell if it's a 5400 or a 6400. -- Last edit: 2009-07-23 14:27:07 |

I didn't think to save the images of it, but Lassie hitches a ride atop this thing by jumping off a railroad overpass and landing on the hay. Unfortunately this is the best shot I ever got of the cab. |

So it is? Then that makes this the 5400. |

This looks like the 3-part episode "Lassie's Odyssey." |

Yes, that's it all right, part 2 to be exact. It's the same scene where we see Lassie try to hitchhike. |

1957 hood emblem, indeed, but why 5400? According to TrucksPlanet, it could also be a: 5100 - 2-ton model with 112-inch wheelbase; 5400 - 2-ton model with 136-inch wheelbase; 5700 - 2-ton model with 160-inch wheelbase; 7100 - 2.5-ton model with 112-inch wheelbase; 7200 - 2.5-ton model with 124-inch wheelbase; 7700 - 2.5-ton model with 172-inch wheelbase; 9100 - 2.5-ton model with 112-inch wheelbase; 9200 - 2.5-ton model with 124-inch wheelbase; 9700 - 2.5-ton model with 172-inch wheelbase. Is there any details to say it is one model more than the others? |

My mistake, it can also be the hood emblem of the 1956 MY: ![]() (1956 Chevrolet LCF wrecker - Click) But the question about the tonnage (5400 and above) remains: we shouldn't claim a number we cannot prove... ⇒ 1956 Chevrolet LCF-Series? |
