Jim Carrey's car throughout the film. Lot of great scenes in it |

I noticed two odd things: The first is that this car is missing the rectangle infrared sensors and LEDs (one should be below the round lock button for the trunk) which would mean that this car was somehow a 98 model when they switched to radio frequency and did away with the three sensors on the outside. Also, how did he have a bunch of parking tickets in the glove box when none of the r129s had glove boxes? Maybe a shot of a w140 specifically for that scene? |

But the fact is that this film started filmed on July 8, 1996, to October 18, 1996. So, it's impossible for it to be somehow a 1998 model. Unless It's pre-production.... or I may be wrong. I don't know for sure. ![]() -- Last edit: 2022-12-04 06:12:53 |

Ok, rewatched it again. It’s definitely a ‘96 model, as that year is the only r129 year to have that style of rear view mirror with the infrared sensor attached to the bottom of it. Hence why I was confused about the deletion of the LEDs and sensor by the trunk button. It was re added in ‘97 and the infrared sensor on the mirror was deleted. The glove box is still a mystery tho. |

It is possibly they cut to another vehicle for the glovebox shot. |
