Although a different model year, is this still labeled as "Custom Eight Victoria?" such as the Back to the Future [Doc's car] vehicle? /vehicle_3752-Packard-Custom-Eight-Victoria-2233-1948.html |

This could be a Super Eight. The Super and Custom eights were both the same car - just that the Custom Eight cost about $1200 more ($4520 vs $3350). Production - Super Eight Victoria Convertible Coupe - 614, Custom Eight Victoria Convertible Coupe - 85. The biggest difference was under the hood - Super Eight 327 cid, Custom Eight 356 cid - and the chrome strips on parts of the car we can't see in this photo. |

1950 Packard Custom Eight Convertible Victoria ( twenty-third series model 2333) : it has the crated grille of the Customs whereas the Super Eight Convertible Victoria model 2332-5 had the grille with the horizontal slats only |

In my version of the Standard Catalog (1982) it says that in the Super Series, the convertible and the Super Deluxe option versions used the egg crate grille. Maybe that is incorrect?? I will check a later edition to find out. |

Should read late 1949 or 1950. They were identical. |

I would say this is a 23rd Series 1949/50 Super deLuxe Victoria. The Customs had the wide stainless steele belt on the top of the door. This car does not. Both the Super deLuxe and the Custom had the eggcrate grille in the 23 Series. The Super deLuxe outsold the Custom in 1949/50; they looked (almost) the same - but the Custom was more expensive. -- Last edit: 2009-12-27 01:45:07 |

This is actually from ep. 1.5, "Lucy Buys a Sheep." And it's a two star vehicle, as Lucy and Viv are clearly seen getting in and out of it.![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-07-15 02:59:23 (Neon) |

Custom 8's had the rear belt chrome extending all the way around the trunk lid so this is a Super Deluxe 8 which used the same grille as the Custom 8 during the 23rd series of mid-'49 to '50. -- Last edit: 2010-08-26 19:06:24 |
