This car was offered for sale on eBay in August 2003 and again in April 2004, and was identified as HBJ8L/36759. It was claimed to be the car used in "The Royal Tenenbaums". Comparing the photos in the eBay ads and the one from the movie still, the car offered on eBay was the one in the movie. The fender "spear" in the still is on backward, but the spears aren't visible in the photos below from the movie. Steve Byers BJ8 Registry -- Last edit: 2011-01-11 22:10:01 |

![]() ![]() Eli Cash's (Owen Wilson) car. Appears in two scenes, in the later scene Eli speeds down the street and crashes into the front of the Tenenbaum house (but you don't see the actual crash, just the car hitting a mailbox and then a shot inside the house where the camera shakes). -- Last edit: 2012-05-11 22:45:00 |

We supplied the Austin Healeys for the movie Royal Tenenbaums. Yes there were two Austin Healeys supplied to the movie company. Both white with red leather interiors. We built the second twin car because there was concern about damage to the vehicle at the end of the movie. One car owned by one of our customers Jason T was sold a twin light 1966/67 Healey. The second car is still owned by Sports and Classics. You can see a picture of the car on our website sportsandclassics.com |

Hah, angelakristen, funny! It is indeed a pretty car, with lovely sculptured curves. But unfortunately, it appears that you're on the west coast, and this BJ8 is on the east coast, with many miles between us! |
