Sir Donald "Ducky" Mallard (portrayed by David McCallum) drives a silver two seat Morgan. Ducky refers to having restored the "wooden frame" himself. When Palmer drives, he grinds the gears several times. Which is indicative of a non-synchronized transmission & an inexperienced driver. Additional photo (unknown episode): ![]() Click me to enlarge! ?? The TV show seems to be using "Bruce Marshall's 1964 4/4 series V Competition" to star as "Ducky drives his own 1954 Morgan 4/4. He restored the car himself." SOURCE: http://www.gomog.com/movies/movies2.html The 1964 Competition model almost certainly would not have wooden tub framing. Morgan began using the 4/4 designation in 1955. Suggested reading: http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/allmorgan.html -- Last edit: 2010-09-26 21:14:49 |

Wings are too narrow for a +8 - steel wheels suggest a 4/4. About 1964 for orange small lights; metallic and top bonnet louvres suggest a bit of updating. Bonnet line too low for +4, which were almost always wires by mid-60s. -- Last edit: 2013-03-06 23:51:05 |

it was acually Gerald who stripped the gears, not Palmer. |
