By the parking light on the B-pillar it is different from French versions. These (and smaller) were in France only on ID versions. Interesting is the text on the shop window: verwen-vernissen (meaning paints and varnishes). In modern Dutch it is written as 'verven', I know the writing 'verwen' only from 17th century texts... As a nowadays Dutch reader I would put the stress on the second syllabe instead of the first, and read 'verwèn-vernissen', indulging varnishes - whatever that would be... |

So the 1/43 kits of Heller were of ID, but they sold them as DSes (they had these lights on the B-pillar). -- Last edit: 2018-08-09 13:59:28 |

Good point, Michał. Indeed the early DS 19 did have such parking lights as well. For some reason it appears impossible to find (in my literature) when exactly these parking lights were dropped on the DS. But based on the pictures I found it must have been somewhere 1962 or 1963. So the car shown here (with parallel wipers) is still different from French prodcution. |
