1941-47 Chevrolet Art Deco stake without any doubt. Experienced fans say it is almost impossible to tell a model year from another, so why the 1946 model year? Anyway: • With such a height, it is a High rack stake option (see page 23 of the 1941 brochure -Pdf / 28 Mb- or the 1942 brochure). • Dual rear wheel means 1½-ton (1941-42) or 1½-ton , 1½-ton Special and 2-ton (1946-47 MY. See the 1946 Chevrolet Truck Data book for Chevrolet salesmen - Pdf, 357 Mb). • The truck seems also to have the long 160" / 4.06 m wheelbase (to be compared to the short 134½" / 3.42 m one), which would mean a YS / MS (1941/1942) Chevrolet chassis code or a 4419 / 6419S / 6419 one (1½-ton , 1½-ton Special or 2-ton 1946/47 models). • 1941-42 1½-ton models were called Heavy-Duty; 1946-47 1½-ton , 1½-ton Special and 2-ton ones were 4100 / 6100S / 6100 (134½" / 3.42 m wheelbase) and 4400 / 6400S / 6400 (160" / 4.06 m wheelbase), depending of the payload. So if we give it a standard 1941 model year: ⇒ 1941 Chevrolet Heavy-Duty High rack [YS] But if sure of the 1946 model year, as nothing can help to say if it is a 4400, a 6400S or a 6400 model: ⇒ 1946 Chevrolet High rack -- Last edit: 2014-12-30 14:22:10 |
