Yup, your right, I just looked at some pictures. It's probably not a real police car. Not when they had the Biscayne and Bel Air to use. I don't think Impalas became Cop choices until the mid 70's. |

It acted on the movie as USAF military police car, arresting the deserter. |

Curiously, it appears to have both door and fender mirrors. |

It's not a USAF Security/Air Police vehicle for sure, and the 'Airman' driving it (Seen better in the shot of the ("Real" US Navy) Dodge A-108) is so ridiculously out of uniform/grooming regs it's insane?? (Starting with his sideburns!!) Probably a POV they got some Serviceman to let them borrow?? |

Fender mirrors are aftermarket, door mirrors are factory. Something that they'd do at a dealer. It 'might' have been sold new there, from the pic of the rear of the car? (Looks like the backup lights were changed out) |

Simply an imported Chevrolet Sedan with some stenciled door-paint to look like a USAF car. It has a Japanese style Patlite lamp instead of a larger American model. The backup lights have been switched with amber turn signal lamps and red reflectors have been added to the rear. |
