1957 would mean it is an 88" version. That version started in 1956 and it likely is that and not the older 86" version. It is definitely from 1955 or younger. That year saw the introduction of this style of rear lights, Lucas model 518, commonly known as 'pork pies'. Additionally I can say that it is an ex-Army version. The front lights, slightly protruding, the military style towing jaw (painted in red) and the trailer socket, protected by cover (the right one of the yellow circles), are specific to the Army versions. The 88" version had the front cross-member moved forward by an inch and the front spring hanger brackets by two inches. In the main picture this is evident, unless it is a trick of light or bad perspective. |
