I guess they only sold them in France and not in Belgium, since I do not remember having ever seen a van labelled as Piaggio here |

...then, another badged brand |

The movie is in France so in this case I guess it is a Piaggio. But in Belgium maybe they only sold the Hijet version? This is quite probable, since here Daihatsu is more common than in France, and since lots of years now. The Hijet is quite similar: Link to "eur.news1.yimg.com" -- Last edit: 2006-03-08 16:15:41 |

Explain for Jun: In Italy named as Piaggio Porter( exceptionally only some 1994 minibuses of 1st series were Innocenti-badged--for the fact that would exist tie-ups with Fiat Auto Group and Innocenti,Brand incorporated in 1990 and then erased in1995,at definitive closure of Innocenti plants of Lambrate--last products of the Lambretta makers were theBertone styled Minis,Daihatsu-powered,since Eighties, with Mira 2-cyl. or Charade 3-cyl.units;seen that, would existing already previously some liaisons with Daihatsu Firm and Italian motor makes); In South Korea known as Asia Motors 800 Towner(since 1993,practically a Korean Daihatsu's badge-engineering of original Hi-Jet/Atrai mfd.in Japan;was short-lived,'cause Asia Motors brand--owned by Kia--disappear during Nineties);probably now will be Kia-badged; In China known as Tianjin TJ-800(since'80s end;another badge-engineering,early ones shown 1981 body still) The Hi-Jet was known in the '80s also with these names: Daihatsu Sparcar(Germany),Daihatsu Wide 55(on some export markets);Daihatsu 550(France);for other selected markets was simply Daihatsu Hi-jet. |
