What is that 'K' in chassis code? Do all 444 have that code? |

It´s a generation marker used by Volvo from the 1950 PV 444 B, or BS for the Special. The first series built between 1947-50 didn´t have a suffix letter, but they are today referred to as 444 A. Volvo didn´t use consecutive letters for some reason, they had B,C,D,E,H,K and L for the PV 444 and an additional S for the Special. This was used internally and also prínted on the instruction manuals. In sales literature these letters are not used. When the PV 544 was introduced they began with A and ended with G using all letters in between. |
