If we used Paykan as the marque, we would avoid the problem of whether a car is pre-Revolution (Iran National) or post-Revolution (Iran Khodro). |

All the more as this one look younger and could be a post Linwood closure car, so Iran Khodro |

Then we will have problem with the model name, which was connected with the engine size (at least in the 90's), if someone can distinguish for example Paykan 1600 from 1800, we can change this. |

It was in 1981 if I'm not wrong. After small research through Iranian forums, with help of the Google translator it was possible to find information, that taillamps trim of the 1977 Chrysler Hunter, some Paykans had already since 1979 - same was with this more Chrylser alike grill (which seems to be in not very good condition here) - so had to get them as soon as production has ended in Europe. The company name change was around 1980. The 1981 models (with new, original front and rear ends) were already for sure made by the "Iran Khodro", but cars, like the one here are less "clear". Anyway if we consider Paykans with such design as 1979, the brand should be Irannational still IMO. http://www.tuningtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=31594&start=15 Edit: Excpet those ones, still the car with classic, 1960's design was produced I think, same seems to be also after 1981. -- Last edit: 2011-07-22 19:36:48 |

Hunter production at Linwood stopped 1977, then transferred to Ireland as Chrysler Hunter with "new" grille (but previously used on Sceptre and Hunter GLS - never used in Iran??) until 1979 when final cars produced - /vehicle_108019-Chrysler-Hunter-1978.html . Linwood carried on producing Avengers and Chrysler/Talbot Sunbeam until factory closure in 1981. |
