1989 Ford Tempo, 1989 was the last year the Tempo had all that chrome. Then they replaced the chrome with plastic. It sucked. I think this is a GLS. |

'88-'91, actually. The second generation Tempo came out in '88, but stayed pretty much the same until '91 (the plastic grille you mentioned came for '92, unless you mean the sports appearance package that was available for those years). |

AWD I am guessing, but it could be a GLS because both had chrome trim for this generation. I think GLS had fog lamps under the bumper though... |

Actually there is no such thing as a AWD GLS. The Tempo trim levels included are: L (base), GL (second class trim), GLS (sport model), AWD (Cross between GL and LX, only with AWD) and LX (Premium luxury model). The Topaz had GS AWD, LS AWD and XR5 AWD, but not the Tempo. It is EXTREMELY rare to come across a Tempo LX/GLS/GL/L AWD model, according to The Ford Tempo and Merucyr Topaz Car Club of North America. I happen to own a LX All Wheel Drive, which is very rare. So, in a ruling of mojority and rareness, it has to be a LX or possibly a GL. But this trim on this own speeks LX. |
