This one could be named Terex-Demag AC 160-2, as the two companies merged. http://www.demag24.com/r_de/products/ac160-2.aspx -- Last edit: 2006-05-03 12:20:52 |

Champion Cranes is a direct relative to "Champion Racing Frames" once owned by Doug Schwerma (who comited suicide). Doug early on was partners with Lynn Kastan, owner of Redline aviation and founder of Redline bicycles. Champion Cranes web site is http://www.championcraneus.com/door/ And a few Champion bicyles can be found here (including some of mine under Tatersalad) http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/champion/ |

Terex Demag is an excellent brand when it comes to severe service trucks. Very Durable. |

Did Terex Demag split or are they still merged as one brand? And if so do they build this same model to this day? |

I know Terex builds Cranes/Booms for class 6,7, & 8 commercial tractors but what was Demag before they merged with Terex? |

The long answer is complicated, but the short answer is that Terex bought Demag's mobile crane division. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demag http://www.terexcranes.com/en/aboutus/LegacyBrands/Demag/index.htm |

I saw one of these being driven on Interstate 5 northbound in Burbank a couple of years ago. Same colors and everything, had its own escort vehicles following. |
