I see a Z/28 badge on the grille. |

Which one is considered the ultimate performance trim level, Z/28 or SS? |

I think it is considered a Z28. |

The SS was the high performance model. The Z/28 was basically a trim package and a special engine only released in the '69 Z/28, the 302. Although its not that powerful at 290 horsepower, its is very rare these days. I've only seen about 2 in my lifetime so far. Also, there is an early-mid '70's camaro or firebird next to it. -- Last edit: 2012-04-23 03:34:03 |

Z/28 was NOT just a trim package in 69. The Z/28 was a car built to compete in the Trans am series that was restricted to just 305 ci. The 302's in these cars showcased some of Chevrolets best factory race pats and they dominated the series in both 68 & 69. |

I know that's why I said the 302 was a special engine And the Z/28 & SS Camaro's had 2 different trim levels and different performance packages. I didn't mean the the Z/28 was not a good car. It was a great car. I've watched a '69 Z/28 race at Laguna Seca in a Trans Am nostalgia-type race. |

Nice it looks like 69 Z/28 mod 350 but mine is not as red as this one. |
