I understand that AMC did assembled vehicles in Karmann assembly, in West Germany as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karmann . |

A really unknown episode, even for Karmann-freaks. Even the brand AMC itself was ever unknown in Germany. On annother pic of this episode you can see a third AMC in the showroom - even in the 70ies this would have been the only possibility in Germany, where you could see three AMC at one place. |

Only place I ever saw any 'new' AMC products sold over there were thru the AAFES New Car Sales offices on post? And I can't recall ever seeing a new/late model AMC product (Except for Jeeps) on a German plate, either??? But it 'is' Wiesbaden!!! (Big US bases there then) A real find indeed!!!! (I do know they sold them in Austria and maybe Switzerland,though....I recall seeing a few registered there??) -- Last edit: 2018-12-17 23:53:24 |

Not a 79-K. They were only made in 1969 and had the older body style. This is a 1971 SST. https://www.motorcities.org/images/file-20170220164704_1971_AMC_Lineup.jpg |
