all production models built by the Consolidated Diesel Division of Condec Corp, designation is Truck, 1/ 1/2 Ton 6x6 Cargo Articulated XM561 "Gama Goat" (LTV)..the LTV designation being the company who produced the pre production prototype (Ling-Temco-Vaught Aerospace Corporation of Dallas texas......improved prototypes went on to be produced by LTVs Michigan division then in 1968 both LTV and Kaiser Jeep entered a joint bid for quantity production but as the bidding was open to anyone,the contract for 1500 units worth a total of $132 million US went to the Consolidated Diesel division of Condec Corp at Schenectady NY where the first production models came off the production line in 1969.at the time of filming all vehicles had been borrowed from the 1/221 Armor Battalion, Nevada National Guard... -- Last edit: 2009-11-11 20:42:05 |
