It is very small and dark .With this top line it could be a ca 1935 Jawa 700 but would need much finer details to confirm. |

How was the Polish car production going back then? What makes did they have? I've only heard of Polski FIAT, Iradam and Lux-Sport (resembling a Tatraplan-sortof). |

In the 30's? (From this decade the car on the pic rather is ) It was based mainly on the licences of FIAT and GM (plus some smaller assembly plants). The licence agreement with Fiat was meant to be end at the beginning of the 1940's and for this time, during the 30's, PZInż heavy prepared the range of completly new vehicles to replace at least some of the Fiats. One of them was the mentioned 1935 stremalined "403 Lux Sport", which in the early 40's would rather get a new body. Other were the trucks of the 703-723 type: http://www.polskie-auta.pl/stara/703.htm Just before the war the informal series of 100 vehicles was even made, but the "full production" of all these cars never started in the 40's from the obvious reasons. On trucks of the 703 type the post-war Star 20 was less or more based. -- Last edit: 2009-12-08 17:08:19 |
