I'd say this is an early 1953 Commander Starliner, like http://www.studegarage.com/1953comm.htm The Champion had a higher placed double rear badge (STUDEBAKER lock CHAMPION) and an S in a wide V. Unfortunately, it's wrong. The raised bar-to-the-lock level denotes '54 vs '53, not Champion vs Commander. Commanders in '53 (unlike in '54) had the name "Commander" in script on the right side of the trunk lid. This is a 1953 Studebaker Champion Starliner Regal. (There should be an "S" over the trunk star, BTW) |
