I found this video of an in-depth tour and drive of a 1989 L trim, which is the exact car in the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ObrrGZ6PG4 This particular model more than likely was equipped with the Ford Vulcan V6, which was standard on the first generation Taurus L wagons from 1986-1991. These were seen in practically every other American driveway in the late 80s through the 90s at the time, but I'll say I think they're actually pretty nice looking even by today's standards.
