This should be a four star vehicle... -- Last edit: 2015-06-14 10:00:51 (karoomay) |

Maybe a different one used for interior shots. In Terra's 7th thumb a '86 to '88 dashboard is seen. -- Last edit: 2015-06-14 10:01:11 (karoomay) |

Perhaps list it as a '88? Since minor styling revisions for '88 and '86 to '88 dashboard. -- Last edit: 2015-06-14 20:13:12 |

I'm more curious how this is a 1990 |

The old dashboard was carried over to the 1989 facelift and changed in 1990. So this must be a 1989 model. |

Nope LX have side cladding. This is a lowly L trim level by the one letter after Taurus on the front doors. Best seen in Thumbs 2 & 5 by Terra. |

Good eye! I found this video of an in-depth tour and drive of a 1989 L trim, which is the exact car in the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ObrrGZ6PG4 This particular model more than likely was equipped with the Ford Vulcan V6, which was standard on the first generation Taurus L wagons from 1986-1991. These were seen in practically every other American driveway in the late 80s through the 90s at the time, but I'll say I think they're actually pretty nice looking even by today's standards. |
