Was the name Capella really used in Switzerland? I'd guessed it would be just 616 (1971-1975). |

"Capella"? This was the name of a heavy hurricane over Europe in early 1976. I've found a booklet about it in our office a time ago. Inside there is a photo from a DAF 55, wich was squashed by a fallen tree. DynaMike will surely know the location, because it was shot in Amsterdam. |

I think Capella was justa an additional name but I'm not sure. At some point during the early 70's all Mazda's had additional model designations. Mazda 1300 was a Marella/Familia, 818 a Savanna, 929 a Safir, 616 a Capella, 1500 a Luce and 1500 wagon was known as Hacienda. At least in advertising they used only names not numbers. |

I know (some of) these names as used in Japan (I think the 818 was called Grand Familia and the RX-7 Savanna). In Holland (and as far as I know also in Germany and France) they only used the numbers, so I guessed it would be the same in Switzerland... @Ingo: Yes every now and then when there's a heavy storm some old trees in Amsterdam fall upon parked cars. It is an interesting sight, but I'm very happy it never happened to a car of mine... |

A few months ago, a huge tree fell over my auntie's Prius. Luckily the trunk missed it by inches, and the fence beside it was crushed to smithereens. |

P.S. Is the 1978+ Fiat 127 in front of it something rare? Abarth maybe? |

(@Ingo: nice picture, looks like Elandsgracht, but I cannot check right now (I'm in Nürnberg)... |
