The one in the main shot and your first set of thumbnails is a 1973-1974 model with a grille from a 1975 model. The truck in your second set of thumbnails is a newer 1975-1976 K-15 (not K-1500 as the name changed from 1974 to 1975). Perhaps the newer one should get it's own page given it's importance. |

I was wondering about that. When I started doing the second season, I knew Jim drives a new 1975 Firebird, but I wasn't sure if Rocky drives a new 1975 GMC. I wondered why Rocky's truck didn't have the three-section grille, because I was pretty sure the six-section grille wasn't used until the 1975 model. I created a new page for it. I'll move the second season thumbnails to the new truck page when it is approved/validated by the admin./mod. -- Last edit: 2010-03-01 07:37:03 |

This truck is a 73 according to the style of fender emblem being used...those were ONLY available for the first year in 1973 and then 74-later used the more common font face with the staggered lettering. |

I've seen some 1974 models that also had that fender emblem. Perhaps they were changed over halfway through the model year? |

I've never actually seen one, but knowing GM it wouldn't surprise me if they slapped some leftover ones on certain trucks, or certain trucks were built after a date in the year where they were ID'd from the factory as a '74, etc. In basically every piece of literature I've read however, it stated these were a one year only design. Kind of strange. The Suburbans also had a '73-only rear tailgate emblem as well, then in 74 they got the newer style which was used all the way until 1988. |

So after digging through Google image search, I'll have to retract my earlier statement...I was certain it was 73 only but there seem to be a large amount of trucks on there with this emblem listed as '74s, so I doubt those are ALL mistakenly ID'd by the owners. Probably a running change! |

K25??? This is a short bed truck. K1500, like ford guy said, with a nice Hickey "Sidewinder" front mounted winch. |
