Crown 85 ◊ 2010-01-14 19:19	Brings back fond memories of the '71 we had when I was a teenager, although it was a dark blue 2-door LTD. Same front end, though. A BIG improvement over the '70 front which I felt was very bland.
gmerkt ◊ 2010-12-26 08:11	I don't know if this particular car was made-up for the film, but the US Gov't did a large buy of Ford sedans and a few station wagons in both 1971 and 72. I've driven many in the US Army, seen numerous USAF versions, but haven't seen one in Navy colors. Navy bought some cars in gray, some in black. Hard to say if the one in the pic is "real" but the decals on the door (applied by FoMoCo) look correct.
Ford_Guy ◊ 2010-12-26 08:30	I think it could be the real deal, especially seeing as how it appears this was filmed at a US Navy installation. It would be hard for a production company to come up with so many (then) modern helicopters and other hardware just for the background.
