1983-1986 (Ford didn't make convertible mustangs in 1979-82) |

Can't be newer than a 1984 as 1985+ models had different tailights. Besides, this episode is from the first season (year 1982) so with your information, this would have been a brand new 1983 model at the time of filming. -- Last edit: 2010-01-28 20:07:46 |

This is not a convertible, (the rear window is to big for to be a convertible, plus lack of trim) This is a standard Mustang coupe with the optional "carriage roof" introduced in 1980. |

Hopefully this ugly "roof" didn't last for many more model years. |

they discontinued it for the 1983 my as they introduced a "real" convertible |

Also, there were conversions of Mustangs into convertibles by aftermarket suppliers as early as 1980. I have a brochure for one as I had a new 79 Mustang, a V-6 Ghia hatchback with every option. The cost for the convertible was about equal to the cost of the car itself. |
