Chevrolet is excluded due to the shape of the rear window. My guess would be a 1956 Cadillac. With a little imagination you can see the tail fins and trim, and didn't the 56s have C A D I L L A C spelled out in the V as opposed to the crest? |

It would be difficult to mistake that for anything but a Cadillac. And yes, 1956. Note the transitional front and rear trim. I would say a Series 62 Sedan DeVille, but a second opinion would be nice. |

If it's actually a sedan, it's a 1956 Sedan de Ville [6239DX] |

The brochure actually refers to it as the Series 62 Sedan DeVille. The DeVille didn't become a separate model on its own until 1958. |

Don't tell me - I have worked with/ in/ on/ under/ around these things on a daily basis for many years, hence my demand for historical education on that subject is... very limited! Still, the habit on this site appears to be listing them as "Sedan DeVille" (correctly "Sedan de Ville"!), which I can agree with, as it's the most common way to refer to them in real life. As always, I just make suggestions, but really don't care what's eventually done with them. |
