No, Junkman is absolutely correct. Up to 1981 it was 'White Western Star'. After the change of ownership in 1981 it became 'Western Star' only. White-Western Star was originally an up-scale west-coast marketted truck in the late 60's. White Motor Corp designed the Western Star brand, built in British Columbia. Western Star became its own brand in the 80s and is now owned by Freightliner. Freightliner at one time was marketted by White and was sold under the name of "White-Freightliner." |
