In "The History of Ford" of the "Crestline" series the author writes that in 1950 the previous named Ford "standard" became the "DeLuxe", and the previous named "Custom" became the "Custom DeLuxe". Other sourches continue to name the cars as in 1949. By the fact that I firstly red that book about Fords, I have continued to use the denominations claimed by that first book, and probably I'm wrong. In any case in 1952 the name became "Mainline", "Customline" and "Crestline", didn't they, DynaMike? |

Indeed I found both 'Custom' and 'Custom DeLuxe' in another book than the one I usually use to check... And we have both on this site. We'll need some extra expertise And yes, in 1952 the new names were introduced, and I think 'Crestline' is quite strange since in 1950/51 there was already a Custom (DeLuxe) Crestliner... |
