Well, you could certainly put a cap on an F-100, but Camper Specials tended to be F-250's and F-350's 1969 Camper Specials: Link to "www.fordification.com" Link to "www.fordification.com" 1970 Camper Specials: Link to "www.fordification.com" http://www.fordification.com/library/main.php?g2_itemId=1753 http://www.fordification.com/library/main.php?g2_itemId=1756 1971 Camper Specials: Link to "www.fordification.com" 1972 Camper Specials: Link to "www.fordification.com" I could look up other years. But in any case, this one is a 1970. -- Last edit: 2010-02-07 05:18:51 |

Wow!!!!just ran across this after googling for Keeling & Clayton California Charger---That was my truck--It was an 1970 F250 Camper Special, 360 engine , dual batteries, dual fuel tanks, side compartment and heavy duty cooling--The guys at Ansen (Louis Senter)fixed me up with a set of their 16.5 slotted mags when they first came out. I promptly found a wrecked 1970 Lincoln MK3 and bought the 460 engine, C6 trans and factory air conditioner compressor and fabbed mounts and exhaust system for my truck---added the under dash air conditioner, and man did it pull the trailer good and fast-- The Ford factory racing engineers saw it at the races , at Shelby's Competition Tire West(Goodyear race) and in the parking at some car shows(Sema) and started the ball rolling to make the 460 a factory option--The truck is still around somewhere(last I heard Colorado) and has been known as the Devil truck . Jerry Clayton PS--List price was only a little over $3000!!! |

So is this your car, Jerry? /vehicle_277455-Custom-Made-Top-Fuel-Dragster.html Because a lot of the pics here are from old, blurry film footage of the early-1970's. |
