Since this shot didn't prominently feature the cars in the scene, the art department didn't need to put in the extra effort to install fake prop license plates on them. After looking up "2CVY784" on the California DMV's Bureau of Automotive Repair website, I found two records of this car passing the smog test in 1996 and 2000.
