Gold badge only used on 75-76 912E (although some owners preferred black) - short-lived edition aimed at US with 1,971 cc 4 cylinder Type IV Porsche/VW engine as used on 914 2.0 - http://www.porsche912e.com/ . Big bumper 911 always had silver or black badges. |

My bumper book of Porsche 911 says there was a 912E Targa, Fuchs wheels were optional; also a comment for 500 limited edition 912E with tints, air conditioning, and on coupes a sunroof - eg Link to "www.aircooledtechnology.com" . So not all 912E were poverty. I'm calling this a 912E only because of the gold badge - otherwise it could be a normal US-bumpered 911 - but if you want to switch it to 911, then the badge needs explaining. -- Last edit: 2012-02-23 00:33:40 |

The 912E '76 was built only for USA, only as coupe not as targa. The badge looks like it is gold, right, but the "Tatort Stuttgart" Porsche (used by main character - police) is a 911 us spec. |
