Due to the "edgy" shape of the radiator grille with a badge on top of it, the fenders and the "bar" underneath the headlights I wonder whether it could be an Audi from the early 1920s, most probably a "Typ E". |

Wasn't Audi a bit expensive for a taxi? Though I have no idea what it could be... |

You're right, Audis were always overpr..ehm I mean expensive, even more than 80 years ago. On the other hand, I really tried to check all the offered models of all the German manufacturers of the 1920s I know.( I restricted my search to German marques not only due a lack of time but also due to the number plate which I believe to be from Berlin). Due to the mass of manufacturers back then, I surely missed a lot of them, but of all the cars I found only the early 20s Audi E/G had this characteristic grille. Of course, some Mercedes cars of the early/mid 20s also used a similar "edgy" radiator grille, but these cars were larger and definitely even more expensive, besides. |
