 No way was this an American origin. These had no connection with the Yank versions at all.

If anything, they took a load of parts from the Ford Cortina Mk5!

 You are right, kazimann. The mold were shipped to Argentina after USA no longer use these generation. The molds were modified as years went on with their own design...
