When this film was made, the Ford Cortina had still to be introduced. Ford loaned the makers their entire 'run' of Cortinas to that point - 25 cars I believe. |

The production of the Cortina MkI ( Consul Cortina ) started in June 1962 and the model was launched in September the same year. The main pic shows a Super Deluxe ( specific chrome trim and 1500cc engine ) that was only introduced in January 1963. |

If you look closely at the bit where all the Cortinas leave the compound you will see that some of them were only two-door models. Not very practical for taxis!! |

As OWC xxx plate series started Nov 62, the standard and deluxe had been in production for a few months, but this would be true for all the Supers which were not launched until Jan 63. |
