Has the then popular Hickey Sidewinder Winch. I remember James Garner being on Johhny Carson's tonight show promoting the GMC trucks he drove (and Garner was a driver!). |

For sure a 1976 model. It has dual front lap & shoulder safety-belts for outboard occupants (driver and first passenger) with emergency locking retractors (ELR). They replaced the traditional lap belts and were marketed as a new safety feature for the rounded-line pickups and utilities. Ford and Dodge would follow one model year later with lap & shoulder belts for their pickups. Seatbelts had been mandated for pickups built after July, 1971. The rounded-line generation was also the first among the full-size pickups to introduce the "energy-absorbing" steering column. In a full front or offset front collision, the steering column would telescope inward and down, to prevent head & torso injury to the driver. The pickup is also equipped with the Trailering Special Package. |

Here is my version of Rockys truck. I know now why there are many more fans doing Firebirds then trucks. Lots of fabrication and equipment on the truck. It was fun but glad its almost over. |

A few more pics. This truck has a 73/74 grille but is actually a 77. I have a 77 Sierra Classic grille that I may swap out later but preferred the 73/74 grille. The colors are slightly distorted due to sunlight but it gets the idea across. Hopefully more people will start to do a Rocky truck. They are really sharp when all done. I know there only seems to be a post put on here about every 5 years but thought I would throw out some pics just encase someone stumbles across it. |

Very nice work on the truck. I've always thought I'd like to get a truck and make a clone of Rocky's. |
