This must be one of only 54 (!) 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental convertibles... |

Still existing is this one which was owned by Babe Ruth: http://mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=CA0809-81411 -- Last edit: 2010-04-20 00:50:50 |

This is not a 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental Convertible Coupe ( 06H-56). It is a 1941 Lincoln Continental Convertible Coupe ( 16H-56).It has the push button door hatches and as the thumbnails clearly show the parking lights on top of the front fenders , both items introduced in 1941. The 1940 model had classic door handles and no fender parking lights ( as shown on the picture of Ruth's car). So the car here is not Babe Ruths car.Production run of the 1941 Convertible was 400. |

It's been years since I've seen this movie...but I purchased it off ebay just the other night. I can't wait to see it again, as I'm a huge Lizabeth Scott (as well as a huge Bogie)fan! I'm assuming from these clips above that this Lincoln is Corey Chandler's (Lizabeth Scott's) in the film. |
